Summer Events in the Roaring Fork Valley
Summer is in full swing in the Roaring Fork Valley and that means live music, rodeos, farmers markets and more! With so much to do from Aspen to New Castle it can be difficult to pick which events you want to attend each week, that’s why we put together some of our favorite events, by town, throughout the Roaring Fork Valley!
Aspen: Every summer premier athletes gather from the world over to compete in the Audi Power of Four mountain bike and running races. These epic events take racers from the base of Snowmass Mountain up and over Buttermilk Mountain, Aspen Highlands and finally Aspen Mountain. Whether you’re an athlete or a spectator these races shouldn’t be missed!
Snowmass: A time honored tradition the Snowmass Free Summer Concert Series consistently brings fantastic live music to the valley. This summer the series features New Orleans Suspects, Ruaile Buaile, Otis Taylor Band and more. Shows start at 5:00 PM at the base of Snowmass Mountain.
Basalt: Every Sunday the Basalt Sunday Market opens to build community and promote local vitality. Every week the market offers fresh produce, fine craft, prepared food and creative activities for anyone and everyone.
Carbondale: Every Thursday all summer enjoy the Wild West Rodeo Series in Carbondale. Featuring calf roping, barrel racing and the crowd favorite, mutton busting! Gates open at 5:30 PM and the action starts at 6:00 PM.
Redstone: Nestled amongst the red hills of the Crystal River Valley Redstone is offering Summer Music in the Park featuring You Knew Me When, Whiskey Stomp, Cowboy Brad Fitch and more. Don’t miss seeing a show in this unique and beautiful music venue.
Glenwood Springs: Head down to the banks of the Colorado to enjoy Glenwood Springs’ Summer of Music at Two Rivers Park! This annual concert series is located at the confluence of the Roaring Fork and Colorado Rivers and this year features Taylor Scott, Super Doppler, Peter Rowan and more. Show starts at 6:30.
New Castle: This Fourth of July enjoy the Apple Tree Community Freedom Celebration in New Castle! The event will take place from Noon-9:30 PM and will feature lots of food, evening entertainment and fireworks after dark!
Rifle: The Rifle Independence Day Celebration is on Monday, July 3rd from 5-10pm. It features the Garco Summer Rodeo Series at the Fairgrounds, Symphony in the Valley Concert at Centennial Park and a City Fireworks Show.
