Roaring Fork Valley FallFall is a great time to explore the Roaring Fork Valley thanks to the jaw-dropping colors that envelope it. A calendar full of lively events is an equally good reason to visit each different town that makes the Roaring Fork Valley the vibrant community it is. Here are our favorite Roaring Fork Valley fall events by town.

It might be hard to make it to all of them, but we definitely recommend trying out at least one or two.

Rifle and New Castle – Burning Mountain Festival

A tradition since 1973, Burning Mountain Festival is Newcastle’s signature fall event. Every year it brings the people of New Castle together to celebrate the pride and strength of the mountain town. The Festival has everything from a 5K to a parade, lots of live music, a pancake breakfast, a classic car show and much more.

Glenwood Springs – Music on the Mountain

Check out Music on the Mountain for free at Glenwood Adventure Park throughout the month of September. Bring a can of food to give as a donation and get a free ride up the gondola. The ride up is the perfect way to take in the fall colors and the music at the top is icing on the cake.

Redstone & Marble – Marble Fly-in

Head up to Marble for one of the most unique events in Colorado, the Marble Fly-in. Every year dozens of assorted planes fly from all over the West descend upon the tiny landing strip in Marble, Colorado. Observers can join in the fun and look at all the unique planes throughout the weekend.

Carbondale – Celtic Fest & Oktoberfest

Celebrate Celtic Fest & Oktoberfest in downtown Carbondale. Start the weekend off with a celebration of Irish heritage including authentic beers, Celtic dancing and more. Follow that up the next day with a celebration of Oktoberfest including German foods, beer, spirits, activities and other family-friendly offerings.

Basalt – Foreign Film & Documentary Nights

Enjoy film nights at the Basalt Regional Library. The Library brings films to Basalt that you might never have a chance of seeing anywhere else. From documentaries to foreign films, there is likely something on the calendar that you might enjoy. Even better, the screenings are free.

Snowmass – Snowmass Wine Festival

Indulge in some of the best wines from around the world and a sampling of the most delectable culinary treats the Roaring Fork Valley has to offer at the Snowmass Wine Festival. This fall celebration in Snowmass starts with a Wine Dinner at the Viceroy and is followed by an opulent Grand Tasting the next day.

Aspen – Aspen Tree Community Meal

Cap off a great fall at the end of November by joining in the Aspen TREE Community Meal. This free meal at the Hotel Jerome is a celebration of the local farmers and the communities that help make the Roaring Fork Valley such a wonderful place to live.
