Featured Town: Basalt

Located at the confluence of the Frying Pan and Roaring Fork Rivers, Basalt originated as a railroad hub for the area. Its name "Basalt" derives from the basaltic formation on nearby Basalt Mountain. The area boasts two Gold Medal fishing rivers, a vibrant downtown area, and a thriving arts culture.
